Lake Champlain and Northern Vermont

Lake Champlain is located on the New York border of Vermont, between the Green Mountains and Adirondack Mountains. Its waters are clear and deep with secluded anchorages, and magnificent mountain vistas.  Much of the shoreline has seen limited development, with many parks and wildlife reserves near the vacation homes and small inns of the area. In the 18th and 19th centuries, Lake Champlain was the scene of naval battles between the U.S. and British navies. Historic Fort Ticonderoga was the site of several important battles as well. The ski resort at Stowe is a major four-season destination resort in northern Vermont, located on Mount Mansfield, Vermont's highest peak.

Killington and the Central Green Mountains

Killington, Vermont is surrounded by the six peaks of Killington Mountain in the Green Mountain Range of Central Vermont. From these peaks, on a clear day you can see all of the New England states, as well as New York and Canada. Many of Vermont's best inns, hotels, resorts, vacation rental homes and condos are located in or near Killington. The peaks of Mount Killington are known as the largest ski resort in the northeastern U.S., while in the summer and fall they offer spectacular backgrounds for hiking, bicycling, horseback riding, camping, and fishing.

The Southern Green Mountains

One of the oldest mountain ranges in the world, the Southern Green Mountains are famous for the region's well-photographed covered bridges, fine museums, state parks, unique country shops and popular ski resorts. You will also find bed and breakfasts located in picturesque small towns with village greens and whitewashed steeples.  Artisan food makers, winemakers, brewers, craftsmen, farmers, and artists abound in the Southern Region of the Green Mountains.
